What is ReNu and why is it used?
ReNu is a familiar brand for many contact lens wearers who use solution to clean their lenses. Two ReNu products have been recalled - ReNu Multiplus contact lens solution and ReNu with MoistureLoc.
What is the defect linked to ReNu?
The recall of 1.5 million bottles of ReNu Multiplus in 2007 came after an elevated amount of trace iron was discovered in the solution. Elevated trace iron could potentially shorten the shelf life and discolor the solution.
Reports have linked ReNu with MoistureLoc to a blinding disease known as Fusarium Keratitis, which results in a need for corneal transplants. Bausch & Lomb recalled the product in May 2006.
What are the adverse symptoms caused by ReNu?
