In Massachusetts and nationwide, far too many lives are cut short or forever changed by car accidents caused by drunk drivers.

The Law Offices of Mark E. Salomone is dedicated to making our roads safer by addressing this serious issue – and we need your help.

That’s why we’re proud to announce a scholarship competition to raise awareness about drunk driving and to support deserving students nationwide. Our law firm will award three scholarships to the prospective or current college students who submit the most insightful, informative essays on preventing drunk and impaired driving.

SCHOLARSHIP PRIZES

Our firm is offering a total of $5,000 in annual scholarship prizes to pay for education-related expenses.

Any applicable federal, state and local taxes on the scholarship will be the sole responsibility of the recipients.

SELECTION CRITERIA AND ELIGIBILITY

All applicants hoping to be considered for the scholarship must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a current or admitted student at an undergraduate institution or law school in the United States. Proof of enrollment will be required to receive the award.
  • Submit an essay between 500 and 1000 words on the subject of preventing drunk driving for consideration.

Applicants must agree (or, if under 18, their parent or legal guardian must agree) that their entry belongs to The Law Offices of Mark E. Salomone and may be posted on our website along with the entrant’s name and educational institution.

Employees of the Law Offices of Mark E. Salomone and their immediate family members are not eligible.

APPLICATION TOPIC AND REQUIREMENTS

Drunk driving is a significant and growing problem among drivers of all ages, and young drivers in particular need to be aware of the risks involved.

The Law Offices of Mark E. Salomone invites you to share your perspective on drunk driving by submitting an essay that answers the following question:


How can we prevent drunk driving and promote safe driving among young motorists?


Only one submission is allowed per student. The essay must be original; plagiarism will result in automatic disqualification.

Each submission must include:

  • Your essay as a Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx format)
  • A digital photo of yourself (in .jpg or .png format)
  • A copy of your school transcript or proof of enrollment
  • Your name, address and phone number
  • The name and address of your school
  • A short, two to three sentence bio describing you
  • A signed waiver form with your parent or guardian’s signature if you are under 18

By submitting an application, you give permission for The Law Offices of Mark E. Salomone to use your name, biographical information and photograph for marketing or other purposes.

By participating in the scholarship competition, applicants agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Law Offices of Mark E. Salomone, its members, officers, directors, and employees against any and all liability and costs associated with the contest or the acceptance or use of prizes.
